AT&T begins requiring messaging plans
Just when you thought AT&T was doing something about improving its service in San Francisco, they have taken a step backwards and begun to force messaging plans upon purchasing select featured phones. Honestly, it`s tiresome to keep beating a dead horse but AT&T brings it upon themselves.

That woman is really excited about required messaging plans. You shouldn't be.
And as a side note, their 3G network trying to handle both iPad`s and iPhone`s at the same time is going to be downright hilarious.
Back to the matter at hand.
Understandably, this might only affect a small amount of you here in the Bay Area, a place dominated by the iPhone and Android. The reason is, the forced messaging plans only apply to phones that, and I`m willing to wager a whole lot here, only a fraction of the population here would buy. Here are the phones, from BGR:
Pantech Reveal, Pantech Impact, Motorola Karma, Samsung Flight, Samsung Impression, Samsung Magnet, Samsung Solstice, Samsung Mythic, Samsung Propel, LG Xenon, LG Neon, and the LG Vu.
See what I mean?
However, there are those of you out there that probably have been spying these and here is the lowdown on why you might want to think twice about the purchase.
All of these phones are Quick Messaging phones which means that AT&T requires, yes requires, that you get a messaging plan when you make the purchase. The reason?
To ensure the best possible experience.
Right.
Well if they wanted to ensure the best possible experience, one they wouldn`t require this and two, they would make it easy to understand, which it`s not. The least you`re going to be paying here is $20 a month while Family plans different. Also, if you have one of these phones already this won`t affect you until you upgrade.
Yes, data and texting are good to have on a phone and it also makes sense to charge for the plans but what doesn`t make sense here is requiring people right off the bat to have to do this. Some people might not need to text or use the internet on their phone so why should they be required to do this?
Yup, that`s right, they shouldn`t have to.
But if you`re feeling like a sucker, head here to find your nearest AT&T store in San Francisco.
