
Yup, it appears as though the HTC Desire will be headed to the AT&T network which essentially means that the Nexus One is heading to the network under a different name. That definitely makes sense considering rumors had the Nexus One heading there at the beginning of the month.

Without getting into the specifics, the HTC Desire is pretty much the Nexus One hardware wise but with the Sense UI running over Google`s Android like I said before. So you knew that someone was going to take it upon themselves to create a ROM that allowed for this operating system to run on the Nexus One.

Anyway, today, a picture surfaced purportedly showing Microsoft`s new operating system running on an HTC HD2. It`s obviously an early build of the operating system but what we can see here, it looks pretty gorgeous. That is, if this isn`t completely fake.

The Mobile World Congress has definitely debuted some awesome stuff with Microsoft announcing Windows Phone 7 which finally puts them firmly back in the mobile market and Verizon and Skype announcing a partnership that makes Big Red look a lot less tyrannical.

While this is certainly big news, fans of HTC phones might miss this great news and that really would be a shame. Or maybe it`s a blessing in disguise considering the tons of you who have complained about the 3G service in the Bay Area with the Nexus One, also made by HTC. They probably like the low profile.

We`ve known for more than a month now that HTC`s HD2 would be heading to the service sometime this year, with rumors pointing to a spring release – likely sometime in March. There are probably more than a few of you in San Francisco excited about the release not only because its close but also because the handset got an upgrade for its American release.

Even after the amazing update Google`s Nexus One received last week, there are still problems abound for the plagued handset. It`s really a shame too because frankly, when you look at what Google did with the phone in the update, it`s seriously one of the better phones out there.
